My partner and I are currently co-owners of a video production and consulting business formed in 2018 that acts as our main source of income. We are both former educators with a passion for teaching and learning, and consider ourselves lifelong students. We have been in between farms for a few years now after spending 3 years farming vegetables organically (non-certified) on leased land. We are now looking to purchase land for ourselves.

We are currently in between farms while we search for the perfect situation for us to establish our home nursery. I began professionally in agriculture in 2019 in the commercial cannabis industry. In the years following we spent 3+ years leasing land for biodynamic vegetable farming before beginning our search for a more permanent situation.

Tree nursery stock will include chestnuts, hazelnuts, walnuts, black locust, american persimmon, honey locust, elderberry, paw paw, haskaps/honeyberries, peaches, seaberry, mulberry and more.
Satellite orchards are planned for the future once our nursery stock is established. We are looking to offer regionally adapted stock for home gardeners, landowners and other farmers alike to be able to establish perennial orchards to replace annually cultivated crops.

We are looking for a mix of wooded and open farmland. 10 acre minimum. Abandoned pastureland, old crop fields, etc. Well drained fertile soil is ideal for orchards, however chestnuts are able to thrive in a multitude of settings including rocky soils, or land that is otherwise difficult to farm annual crops.
Desired Tenure
At this time, we are looking to purchase raw land that we can develop ourselves.
We are very interested in working with others to strengthen small farms collectively by communal access to land, equipment, processing, distribution channels, etc.
