We turned the farm over to the nonprofit, Lamb's Quarters, Inc., in 2015. Our main passion is to help veterans get into farming and save our country's farmland. We have seen first hand the healing power of working with plants and animals. We are looking to find veterans or a veteran organization to take on both the farm and the nonprofit in order to focus on veterans. We would also consider other options for the farm. Please see the tenure options descriptions for more. Primary goal is to connect with other veteran farmers or veterans looking to be trained in farming.
The farm property is old style organic since the 1970s; currently have market gardens, lamb, goat, chicken, goose, orchards, berries, firewood, mushrooms; buildings in fair to poor condition; equipment in fair condition.

Farm History & Past Use
family farm for 3 generations which turned farm over to the nonprofit in 2015 to continue as a rehabilitation farm; was dairy and poultry until the 1950s; went fallow; 1970s started again as diversified, organic operation (produce, meat, horses, etc.)
Tenure Options
Currently owned by a 501c3 nonprofit; we are primarily looking to connect with a veteran to take on the assistant farm manager job (room and board provided) OR to find veterans or a veteran organization to take on both the farm and the nonprofit in order to focus on veterans.
We would also consider donating the farm to an institution (like an ag college) to use for their own educational purposes as long as they allow us to continue to use the farm to help veterans OR donate to a veteran farmer looking to take on their own operation for his or her own use.
Our last option would be to sell the property. We would only consider this if the other options did not work out.
Would allow the farm manager/assistant to lease a part of the property connected for personal use. Partnership with other veterans to continue this as a rehab farm; flexible options.
